Pass Rate for the U.S. Customs Broker Exam

What is the pass rate for the U.S. Customs Broker Exam? I bet that is what you’re thinking, especially if you’ve never taken the U.S. Customs Broker Exam before or you’re waiting to the good news because you’re just taken it!

U.S. Customs is both hard and tricky. Normally, the pass rate for the U.S. Customs Broker Exam can range from 1% to 12%, but there have been times in the past where the exam rate up higher than 12% (rare but not impossible). It’s impossible to determine whether the exam you took (or will take) would have a higher pass rate or a lower one – but usually, the October Exam has a lower pass rate than the April one.

As an example, I took the October 2019 U.S. Customs Broker Exam, and the pass rate AFTER appeals was less than 4%! That is crazy. Not only is this exam given only 2x pee year, but it’s also one of the hardest exams in the country.

If you want to take the exam, the best thing to do it to understand that it’s a difficult exam, but also to understand that you can pass it in on shot if you want to (as I did). Don’t think of it as a life-ending exam, don’t throw up every day because it’s getting closer and closer. It’s just another assignment from school, or work – nothing more, and nothing less.

If you go forward with that approach, you are bound to pass it.
